Table Runner with Art Gallery Fabrics, and some updates…

Created On: April 6, 2012  |  Updated: April 6, 2012  |   Leave a comment

It has been a crazy, crazy month around these parts! I’m “officially” 8 months pregnant now, and counting down the days until the little guy arrives. But, with a nursery that isn’t done yet, no name has been picked out, and there is still so much I need to do to prepare… so I’m not counting TOO fast!

I wanted to share with you the table runner that I did for the recent Art Gallery challenge. The challenge was to make a table runner. It had to be “geometric”, use Art Gallery solid fabrics, and no fancy-pants quilting like swirls. Yeah, staying away from swirly quilting is easy for me and my walking foot! Now I’ve got to start on the April Art Gallery Challenge! The challenge is to make a saddle bag… hmmmm… I’ve got a couple ideas brewing…

This table runner was made quilt-as-you-go style. The strips were sewn in place through the backing and batting, flipped and pressed, and then the next strip was added. Easy-peasy. Which is normally not me. I like going all-out. But like I said, it has been a crazy month around here, and just the fact that I finished the project was a WIN for me!

In the past month, baby and I have found ourselves at the hospital twice. Luckily, we just stayed for a couple hours each time, got patched up, and were sent on our way. Baby and I are doing fine, and other than having to quit work a couple weeks earlier than expected, there were no ill effects. It did provide the set-up for a great April Fools joke, however. I photoshopped an ultrasound picture of twins, and posted it on my personal Facebook on the first, saying that we figured out “who” had been causing all the problems. A great twist on the classic “I’m pregnant – April Fools!” joke… I went with “I’m MORE pregnant!”

I’ve had some fun over on my Moore Craft Time blog this month as well. I teamed up with Angie from The Country Chic Cottage for Crafty Quickies – a week of crafts that can be done in 15 minutes or less. Which sounds like an easy week… but with crafting and photo editing and posting twice a day… it was a total Blog Marathon! Ok… maybe more like a Bloggy 5K, but still, something I should have been “in training” for. Though, I have no idea how one would train for something like that! It was a great chance to whip out some projects I’d been needing to finish… like a going-home outfit for the new Little Moore! And, some of the projects I made, some that were featured, and other neat projects got featured over on the Babble blog “The New Home Ec” yesterday. Woot! Crafty Quickies are officially a “thing”!

I’m still working on the nursery, and hopefully next week will be able to give you a “reveal” of how it is all turning out! I’ll give you one hint, though… there are a lot of these guys going on!

Oh, and I got to have some fun with my Vegas Bloggers gals this month as well. If you follow me on Twitter you know that I got to join several of my Vegas Blogger pals. We went to Rao’s Restaurant. I totally stuffed myself with an amazing four-course lunch. It was awesome! Seriously.

That second picture is of their Penne Vodka. And though all of it was amazing… I’d say that the Penne Vodka was my absolute favorite. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!
I waddled even more than normal after this amazing meal! It was so much fun to hang out with other Vegas Bloggers like Brandie from Home Cooking Memories and Stefanie from Rockstar Mom LV. Normally I only get to chat about blogging online; it was fun getting to talk about blogging live and in person… while chowing down on antipasto, salads, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, and of course… dessert!!

And, to wrap up the month, it seems that my blog feed hasn’t been working for some time now! So, if you normally read me in some kind of reader, well… I guess you haven’t lately! I’ve had lots of fun stuff going on, including updating my Tutorials page and adding a page with links to quilts I’ve worked on, so be sure to check it out!

Lots “moore” to come!

Always,
