This super fun “Chained Up” baby quilt is inspired by the Irish Chain design. And, it is made with super-simple four patches. The 4 patches are made two different ways, with the smaller 4 patches being made using the Turbo 4-patch ruler.
I made the Chained Up quilt as this month’s Ruler of the Month pattern. You’ll love how easy it is to make!
To make this quilt, you’ll need the Turbo 4-patch ruler. You can get the Turbo 4-patch at the Fat Quarter Shop or buy the Turbo 4-Patch on Amazon.
I this video, I show you how easy it is to use the Turbo 4-patch ruler. Even if you don’t want to make this quilt, it is a super fun ruler to use when making a scrappy quilt.

Just found you on YouTube! I love your videos and your site as I also love rulers to make my piecing perfect. I have two hands, but one is paralyzed which makes piecing frustrating. But one must persevere! Your tutorials are so clear and rulers are going to help me so much! Do you have a way to hand sew for 1-handed sewers? I can thread a needle, but I’d like to be able to do somplethingslikewhipstitch , and running stitch.
Anyway, it was so nice to meet you online, Judy
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I am so glad you are enjoying the content. I don’t have any information one-handed sewing, unfortunately. It isn’t something that I’ve ever come across. But, maybe look at some of the tools already out there with clamps or frames? There are a lot of tools for embroidery and hand quilting that could be adapted for one-handed sewing.
