Yesterday, I showed you how to make the drawstring backpack I made for a 6-year old’s party that we went to. Inside the drawstring bag I put 2 containers of “Custom Doh.”
I’ve been making this Custom Doh for years. It is always a hit at kids parties – kids love to see their own name on stuff. And {bonus} it is both inexpensive and easy to make! The only “extra” thing I sometimes need is cream of tartar, which can be found in the spice section of any grocery store.
Something else to have on hand are several matching containers. In this case I used mayonnaise jars. Frosting cans work well, as can a number of other containers. You just want to make sure you make enough doh to fill them. The mayonnaise jars take a double batch, each.
If you want to make your own custom doh, I’ve provided a super-simple printable at the bottom of the post, already scaled to size. The printable has the recipe right on the front – making it easy for you, and easy for the recipient to make more doh when this batch goes stale and crusty (which doh tends to do).
You can print the labels onto sticky-backed label paper, which makes things easy, or print onto regular paper and use glue or contact paper to secure it to the container. Just write the name of the kiddo on the label, followed by “Doh” and you’re ready to go!
Have fun making your own doh!
Always,

That is so neat. My boys don’t play with Doh anymore, but my little niece would love few personal jars.

This is great. We just got into Play-doh not long ago and I will have to keep this in mind when we need more!
