Most days, my job is pretty top-tier. I get to be surrounded by fabric. I get to work with the best brands, and connect with the most fabulous folks in the quilting community. But some days, when I’m really lucky, I get to do something extra special!

I have a family member who works at the New Children’s Museum in Downtown San Diego. The Museum was looking for a either a donation of or discount on sewing machines for Artopia: NCM Creative Studios, and she wanted to know if I had any connections. My good friends all know that connecting awesome people to one another is one of my favorite things to do. So, finding a company that would jump in on this project became my new mission.
Full transparency – I haven’t worked with Sewing Parts Online in the past. I have friends who have worked with them, and all have said good things. And I have no problem sending out some emails asking for support of a great 501c3 nonprofit. I then met a member of the Sewing Parts Online staff at an after-hours QuiltCon mixer. I mentioned the project to them. Not only were they excited, but they tracked me down on the show floor the next day to make sure that I had the best contact information. Y’all. I’m asking them for a donation and they make this kind of effort to track me down? Guaranteed this won’t be the last time you hear me mention Sewing Parts Online!
A few quick emails later, and they were sending Baby Lock Jubilant machines to The New Children’s Museum! If you’re not familiar with the Baby Lock Jubilant, it is the same machine I use in most of my YouTube videos. I love this machine because it works fabulously, isn’t an overwhelming beast of a machine, is still affordable, yet has all the features any beginner or intermediate sewist would want in a machine.
I made arrangements to come unbox these fantastic machines, and took video of the process.
It was my absolute privilege to connect The New Children’s Museum with Sewing Parts Online, who generously donated these brand new Baby Lock Jubilant machines to the Museum’s new Artopia NCM Creative Studios exhibit. If you’d like to learn more about this hands-on exhibit at The New Children’s Museum in downtown San Diego, you can find out more about it here.
If you’d like to get your hands on one of these fabulous Baby Lock Jubilant machines from Sewing Parts Online, you can find the Baby Lock Jubilant here. If you love this machine as much as I do, but you’re on a budget, check out their refurbished Baby Lock Jubilant machines here.
