Free Money Quilt Block Pattern

Created On: November 5, 2024  |  Updated: November 7, 2024  |   Leave a comment

This free pattern for a Money themed quilt block is relatively simple and easy to make – Just four fabrics! And if you have some fun face fabric, you can use it for the center of the bill, and even the center of the coins for some custom money in this fun money quilt block. This block was designed as part of this month’s Quilt Block Mania where all of our designers chose to make quilt blocks using the theme market. It took me a long time to figure out my design, but in the end, a money block seemed fitting for going to the market!

Tips for making the Money Quilt Block

This block is fairly simple to make. When making the Money block, you’ll start by adding simple stitch and flip corners. You’ll then build on these units, and trim the pieces to size as you put them together. The finished block may be oversized so that you can trim it down to the finished size. This gives you increased accuracy on your finished quilt block.

If you’ve never made blocks this way, you may at first be wary of trimming your units to size, but it is a great quilting technique to learn in making accurate quilt blocks and accurate quilts.
