Do you prefer tea or coffee? I’m a big fan of tea, and I love having my tea in a mug. I have several favorite mugs that I rotate through here at my house. This mug quilt block reminds me of several of my favorite mugs – I just have to change out the fabric to give it a different look. You can also make the mug and the handle different colors if you like. One of my favorite mugs has a decorative cup, but a solid blue handle. That would be simple to recreate on this mug quilt block.
This mug quilt block is so fun, with a little tea tag that is just begging to be made from a fussy-cut fabric! Pick your favorite fabric motif that fits in a 3″ square, and you’ll have the perfect custom tea-tag hanging from the mug!
If you’d like to learn how to fussy-cut, I have a video on using the square it up and fussy cut ruler:
This quilt block is perfect for adding to a cozy quilt. You can also use it for different quilting projects – like a table runner or wall hanging. With your favorite fabrics, wouldn’t this tea mug quilt block look perfect as a kitchen wall hanging? You can get this block a a FREE download when you join the newsletter list:

Thanks for the block. I am a tea lady from childhood. We always had ice tea in the fridge and a cup of hot tea everyday at 4pm with my nana, and then with my mom when she was older. I appreciate this block especially the tea bag.
