Little Moore is not into crafting. I have high hopes for Baby Moore, but I’m also doing what I can to help Little Moore discover all the fun of crafts. So far, he has developed an addiction to googly eyes. This is a good start. I’m always looking for ways to expand on this, of course, so I was very excited when Kidville offered the Vegas Bloggers an opportunity to come play! Kidville’s “Mayor Melissa” let me bring LM in for a Big Messy Art Class a few weeks ago.
Kidville is in the beautiful new Tivoli Village shopping center in Summerlin. We took a mommy-and-me style class, but 3 and up classes are generally drop-off classes, providing the opportunity to shop or sip some coffee while the kiddo has some fun of his own.
The Big Messy Art Class had everything a budding artist needs. Plenty of creative space to draw, color, and be messy. Several activities that kept the kids busy, and songs and games to keep everything interesting.
Little Moore was very serious about painting this Lady Bug body. These crafts are well thought-out. For example, this black paint was mixed with glue, allowing us to easily attach Lady Bug wings and legs! And supplies were prepared in an age-appropriate way that I was totally impressed with – the legs were pre-crimped, so that small hands didn’t have to try to crimp them on their own, and didn’t have to wait impatiently while mommy or daddy did the folding.
If you have a budding artist that would enjoy this Big Messy Art Class is being offered as part of Kidville Summer Camp. The camp is designed for children 6 months to 6 years, and sign ups are starting now!
There were other fun activities as part of the class – like this group mural painted on the wall. The kids had fun getting messy and painting. It also gave them a chance to stretch their legs between projects, which is great for little guys with short attention spans!
Though Little Moore enjoyed his class, his favorite thing about Kidville is the playspace! This open play area is like an indoor playground – complete with spongy, bouncy floor!
Plenty of things to climb on, over, around, under, and through. LM wouldn’t mind spending an entire day there!
And neither would I! Which is great, because when you sign up for Summer Camp by July 1st, Kidville is offering FIVE free playspace passes!
Oh, and there is more to Kidville, of course. The entire upstairs is dedicated to class and activity space, but the downstairs has a great boutique filled with clothes and toys. Many of the toys are the great educational and wooden toys that can be tough to find anywhere but online. This boutique is great for grabbing a last-minute gift for that birthday party or shower you have later in the week. So you can take you child to a fun class AND get an errand checked off your list!
There is also a salon for the little guys. Complete with car, firetruck, and airplane salon chairs. Whenever he gets a chance, Little Moore likes to sit in one (or all three) before we head home.
We had a great time playing at Kidville and look forward to hanging out there again soon!
Always,
