These little cookies are as fun to eat as they are to make! They are much easier to make than they look… no individual little pieces of dough to puzzle together!
I made these yummy cookies as a collaboration with some of my bloggy buddies who also created Halloween treats to share!
Knead in food coloring a couple drops at a time to work it into the dough. The smallest ball of dough gets no food coloring, the middle ball becomes yellow, and the largest becomes orange. If you use a mixture of red and yellow to make orange, do not use equal parts of both red and yellow food coloring. Instead, use 1 drop of red to every 3-4 drops of yellow food coloring.
Your colored dough will look like this.
Make the white ball into a cylinder. Don’t worry overmuch about the size of the cylinder. Flatten the yellow ball into a rectangle-ish shape. The rectangle should be as wide as the cylinder, and as tall as the circumference of the cylinder.
Wrap the yellow dough all the way around the white dough. Then do the same with the orange dough. Try to make it all the way to the ends, but if it doesn’t look perfect, don’t worry about it. You can cut the ends off and snack on them rather than bake them!
Roll the large triple-colored dough cylinder into a long, more narrow tube. Don’t worry, all three of the colors will stretch evenly. Cut the dough into smaller pieces, wrap in plastic, and place in the freezer for at least an hour until the dough sets.
After the dough has set, cut off the end, then slice into rounds.
Slice each wedge into 6 pieces. This makes the candy corn shape.
Spread the dough wedges out on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 7-10 minutes. They should be cooked, and slightly brown on the bottom, but not at all brown on the top.
Find a fun Halloween plate and treat yourself to these tricked-out cookies!
Always,
Carolina

I made these cookies and they were pretty and tasty! However, I have some questions. What diameter is the cookie dough roll? How many cookies does one recipe make? I went with a 2” diameter, but I was concerned that if I cut the slices into sixths they would burn easily. I went with cutting them into quarters and made about 120 cookies.

My round was about 3 to 3.5 inches in diameter. I didn’t count how many cookies it made… quite a few since they are so small! It would depend how accurate you are in cutting your slices of your roll. If you cut them a bit thinner, you can get quite a few more, and if you cut it a little thicker, you’ll get less… You could get 120-150 out of the recipe I used.
If you are worried about them burning, bake them a few minutes less. The dough should still set, but be a bit softer.

This are adorable!
Do you mind if I ask how big they turned out? I was wondering if I tried making one giant roll how big the cookies cut into sixths would be.
