I’m working on my June Art Gallery challenge, and realizing that I never shared with you my May challenge completion!
The challenge was to make a wine bag, all Art Gallery fabrics (of course), with a draw string. Bonus points for adding embroidery.
I do not have a fancy embroidery machine. Or all the stabilizers and fancy threads that come with owning a fancy embroidery machine. I do, however, know how to hand embroider. I just never take the time to do it.
I planned out the wine bag, and then stitched the motif on the fabric before putting it all together. The motif is an enlarged version of the pattern on the fabric. The top band of fabric is loose, so that it can be made “puffy” and I boxed the corners on the bottom for a snug fit. The draw string feeds into the main part of the bag with buttonholes.
This project did take a little time with my seam ripper to get it “just right”, but I love the result!

You have so many different talents and I really enjoy ‘seeing’ all of them. I love how you created the embroidery to match the fabric!
