Clouds Quilt Block

Created On: March 3, 2026  |  Updated: March 2, 2026  |   Leave a comment

The theme for this month’s quilt blocks is weather, so I decided to make a clouds quilt block. I have made some other weather themed blocks in the past, like the raindrops quilt block, and I thought, living in San Diego, some clouds would be a great quilt block showing weather!

I did some fun design on this block, because it is designed as two half-blocks that are each 6″ tall and 12″ wide. You can place them side-by-side to make a full cloud, or you can make several of these blocks, and line them up on a half-drop so that you get a quilt full of clouds! I’m itching for a chance to sew up a full cloud quilt! Perhaps some scrappy clouds on a solid blue sky? Or solid clouds on a scrappy sky?
