For the July Art Gallery Fabrics Challenge, we had to make a pillow using pieced letters. I went BIG and created this pillow that stretches across the length of my California King sized bed! It reads “Always Kiss Me Goodnight.”
This sucker took FOREVER to make, but would have taken even longer without the help of the Refrigerator Magnet Pattern from Oh, Fransson! ($12.50) This is genius. She has all the letters, in 3 different size options, both upper and lower case, plus special characters… all as printable paper-pieced patterns.
She also shows a unique method for paper piecing. It uses freezer paper, and allows you to re-use your templates. I wasn’t ready to tackle a new piecing method, so I traced the reverse of the patterns, and used traditional paper piecing, which worked fine as well. But, I am excited to try her new method on a future project… because I’ll be using these easy letters again and again…
