Glitter Frame - I'm in love with GLITTER again!

I am SO EXCITED! Thank you Martha Stewart and Plaid for helping me fall in love with glitter again!
Glitter and I have had a very tense relationship over the past few years. I’ve admired glitter from afar, but try not to get too close. Because glitter is clingy. One interaction with glitter, and days (even weeks) later, I’m still finding remnants of that encounter – on my table, on the floor, in my hair.
I’m not the kind of mommy who spends her Friday nights out at the club, glammed up with glitter, but my co-workers wonder if I’ve got a secret life when I show up with glitter on my cheeks on Monday mornings after a weekend of glitter crafting. Except for the occasional slip-up, I’ve banned glitter from my craft room for years.
Until now. Thank you for making the Multi-Surface Glitter Acrylic Craft Paint as part of the Martha Stewart Crafts Decorative Paint Line by Plaid. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this paint. With glitter that stays where I paint it. That doesn’t rub off at the slightest touch. And is as sparkly and shimmery as glitter should be.

Now that my love-affair with glitter has been rekindled, I made these picture frames for my nieces, because every girl loves sparkly and shiny, right? They were super simple. I started with wooden letters and frames from Michael’s, Martha Stewart Craft Paints in Pearl and Glitter {YAY!} and some of Martha’s awesome paintbrushes.

I painted the frames with the beautiful shimmer of the pearl paint. It only took one coat to get the coverage I wanted.

And painted the letters with the glitter paint. I did about 3 coats of glitter paint to get the amount of sparkle I wanted.

I wanted to add some more fun to the frames, so I used the foam pouncers with some matte yellow paint from this same line and one of the Martha Stewart stencils. Quick, easy, and adds some texture to the frames.

Once everything was dry, I glued on the letters, and I’m all done… except for finding the perfect pictures of each of my nieces to put into the frames. I’m thinking of pictures that include their favorite Tante! {In case it isn’t obvious – that would be me.}
