PSA Essentials Design Team Audition

Created On: August 25, 2012  |  Updated: August 25, 2012  |   2 Comments

At the beginning of the month I auditioned to be on the Design Team for PSA Essentials. These are fun peel-and-stick stamp sets that have fun interchangeable circle motifs. You can even get custom circles with your name, address, blog name… whatever. Very, very cool! The selections have been announced, and I did not make the cut.

Sure, I’m a little bummed because I would have loved to be a part of the team. But, I think I did a good job. I can’t beat myself up saying, “You should have tried harder.” Ok, maybe I can… but there will always be people better than me… and in this case, some of those people applied to be on the design team! I can always try again next year, I’m sure I will have improved, and maybe some of those superior crafters will be too busy working on something else to apply!

Here are the projects I submitted for consideration…

boing scrapbook page

This scrapbook page uses two different scrapbook papers and one of the circle stamps from PSA Essentials. I love super-simple scrapbook layouts that allow the picture to be the star of the show.

This gift box is probably my favorite submission. I used the same circle stamp as in the scrapbook layout, and pulled ribbon through a hole in the center. I made a charm using a dress stamp and a bottle cap, covered in dimensional magic. The box was painted with glitter paint to add some extra sparkle.

A second simple scrapbook layout – this one with the theme “duck, duck, goose!”

A canvas wall hanging with an ombre background and three different stamps. I used dimensional magic on the stamped circle images to add some shine.

Do you think I have a shot next year?

My favorite? Love the box, especially the extra detail like the sparkle paint and bottlecap embellishment.

I also really like the ombre on the wall hanging as well.
