Pumpkin Week – Caged Pumpkins

Created On: October 8, 2010  |  Updated: October 8, 2010  |   4 Comments

It is hard to believe now that these two cages started out looking very similar… but each one got a little different Pumpkin “twist” and became a unique Halloween decoration!

When we saw these little cages at Michael’s in the $1 bins, we knew they had to become something… or somethings. A white one was spray painted orange, and had some black felt attached with hot glue. Super easy! Just as easy was making a hanging “pumpkin bat” so terrifying he needed to be caged up! Here is how you can make your own!

Start off with a cage. I felt the black one would look best.
Prop up a mini ornament.
Paint the ornament top green.
Draw a face with a fine-tipped permanent marker. Don’t forget his scary fangs!
Fold a piece of fabric in half, and cut a pair of bat-like wings.
Glue the wings to the top/back of the ornament.
Hang your “vicious pumpkin” in the cage using a short piece of black thread.

Enjoy!!
