Sew Street Market

Created On: April 10, 2011  |  Updated: April 10, 2011  |   5 Comments

Yesterday was the Sew Street Market. I’d been working on this event for months – getting permits, signing up vendors – and finally the day had arrived!

But, before the day itself arrived, came the weather forecast: rain. Only a 30% chance, but we couldn’t risk getting soaked (and having all of the wares get soaked) so we moved everything under the overhang of the plaza. That made things… interesting. If you want to know the details, you’ll have to sit me down with my feet up and a glass of wine… it is one of those kind of stories!

Between all the organizing, and checking-in, and fixing, and whatnot that goes into running an event like this, I did have a chance to do some shopping. I’d given myself a paltry budget of $40… but with the amazing deals (and a couple freebies from friends) I managed quite a haul!

That would be 7 books, 2 yards of fabric, 3 patterns I can’t wait to play with, a charm pack (Anticipation), a jelly roll (Botany), and a cute little hair clip. I must say that I’m most proud of the jelly roll – just $15! SCORE!

I also managed some shots of what the vendors were selling, here’s some eye-candy for ya…

There was lots, lots more… all kinds of stash-clearing, as well as hand-crafted items. Hundreds of yards of fabric and fat quarters, bins and bins full of patterns… it was tons of fun!

I’m off to get some things… lists and lists of projects are calling to me (including laundry, ugh)!

Always,
C. Moore

Thanks for doing the hard work so everyone could enjoy the event! I scored a jelly roll bargain, as well as some other fabric goodness and a pattern that I have been “playing” with today!
